Dry conditions, warm temperatures, and vegetation can continue to create a serious wildfire risk well into the fall.
Take a few minutes to help protect your home:
🌿 Keep grass, weeds, and vegetation trimmed around your property
🏠 Clear leaves, pine needles, and other flammable debris away from your home
🌲 Prune tree limbs away from roofs and structures
🔥 Make sure campfires and outdoor burning are completely extinguished
Wildfire preparedness doesn’t end when summer does. Stay aware, stay prepared, and help protect your home and neighborhood.

Our 2025 Graduates have officially made it through probation and earned their Black Firefighter Shields! 🖤🚒
This shield represents the hard work, dedication, training, and commitment they’ve put in since day one. We couldn’t be more proud to see them reach this milestone and officially take their place among the Eagle Fire family. Congratulations, firefighters! You earned it. 👏🔥

Animal Rescue 🦢
Our firefighters recently responded to a swan tangled in discarded fishing line. Thankfully, they were able to free the adult swan, but unfortunately, its baby was also caught in the line and did not survive.
This is a sad reminder that discarded fishing line can pose a serious danger to wildlife. If you’re fishing, please take a moment to collect and properly dispose of your used line and tackle. Help us keep our waterways safe for everyone. 🦢

MUTUAL AID INCIDENT

Early this morning (8/2/26), Eagle Fire’s Engine 44 responded to a mutual aid request near Weiser, Idaho. Crews assisted with structure protection and have since been released from the incident.
Mutual aid is a reminder that we’re stronger when we work together. 🤝🚒

EAGLE! YOUR VOICE MATTERS! Through joint collaboration and partnership, the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Survey allows residents of Ada County to share what is personally important to you. Such as wildfires risks and mitigation, flooding zones, and other natural disasters. Your feedback will help us prioritize what is important to you and your specific communities so we can best prioritize planning and future mitigation. Like always, we are proud to serve YOU!

Ada County is working with community members to be better prepared for natural hazards or dangers like floods, wildfires, landslides, earthquakes, and storms by updating the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan will look at natural hazards and vulnerabilities, determine what is at risk, and find ways to reduce or eliminate future problems from those hazards.
This survey gives you a chance to share your thoughts and be part of the mitigation planning process. The information you provide will help us better understand your concerns and may lead to actions that lower your chances of getting hurt, losing important services, or having damage to buildings because of a natural disaster in the future.

Air quality in our area has reached Very Unhealthy levels due to wildfire smoke. We encourage everyone to stay indoors as much as possible, keep windows and doors closed, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity. Those with heart or lung conditions, older adults, children, and pregnant individuals should take extra precautions.

This week, our recruits reached a milestone they’ll never forget.
After climbing the aerial ladder, each recruit earned the honor of receiving their official full-time firefighter shirt—a symbol of the hard work, determination, and commitment they’ve shown throughout the academy.
To mark the occasion, they also took part in the time-honored tradition of the Recruit T-Shirt Burn, leaving behind the shirts that represented where they started and celebrating the firefighters they have become.
