Nice Friday soaring yesterday. Lift up to 5,000’ plus. Three guest rides and a bunch of training flights. It wasn’t hot and there was a nice breeze down the runway! David Brinkley provided excellent tow (towed me into strong lift!), Jeb and Randy provided instruction and guest rides. Don’t miss out on the Friday flying, always seems a bit more special and you know if it’s going to rain…it’s always on Saturday or Sunday d;^)

“Bubba”, our first FAA Certified Seeing Eye dog taking our first blind pilot for a ride yesterday. Bubba can sniff out a thermal with amazing accuracy. All went well until Bubba saw a squirrel on final. It was a very Ruff landing!

Nathan Taylor flew an impressive flight yesterday in E9, his ASW-20A. Here’s an excerpt from his email:

My 350km FAI triangle attempt was successful today.
Here’s a link to the flight trace, stats, and some pictures. I flew east past the Cumberland Plateau, South to the Tennessee border near Chattanooga, and then back to Eagleville.

Max elevation was 8500 ft and strongest thermal was 10 knots.

Great job Nathan! It was a very active day at Eagleville as well. All our birds were in the air, a new member made his first flight at ESC as well as a Young Eagle flight.

I took Garrett Edmiston (front seat) flying yesterday for the first time in an any airplane. He absolutely loved it. Other than a new found love for flying (he managed to climb 700’ in a thermal!) the best comment was how friendly everyone at ESC is.
