Recently the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office posted a warning about Scams happening in our area. These scams are everywhere! The Eagleville Police Department wants you to be safe and make you aware of several scams that are currently targeting citizens, frankly everywhere. Scammers are becoming more aggressive and convincing, often preying on fear, urgency, and confusion.

In our own city, we know of several people that have been targeted. People are receiving phone calls or text messages claiming to be law enforcement or government agencies. Scammers may tell you that you have missed jury duty, owe fines, have warrants, have speeding tickets, or need to make an immediate payment to avoid arrest.
Please remember:
-We, nor the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office will ever contact you by phone and ask for money.
-Do not give out personal, banking, or account information over the phone or online unless you are certain who you are dealing with.
-Do not send money to anyone who pressures you to act immediately.
-Be cautious of anyone asking you to keep the matter “confidential” or “urgent.”
-Do not click on any links.

Please don't engage with these people. JUST HANG UP>

For peace of mind, you can call the non-emergency number for the SO which is 615 898 7770. They will assist you and possibly dispatch Eagleville Police to file a report.

Please share this post to help spread awareness and protect your friends, family, and neighbors.
