Methacton School District

Methacton School District The Methacton School District is a public school district in Pennsylvania that serves 4,600 students in Lower Providence and Worcester townships.

Methacton is a community of about 13,000 households located in a suburb of Philadelphia in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Methacton School District has long enjoyed a tradition of excellence in education and community involvement in our schools. The District, formed in 1969, was created by a 10-year merging of the school districts that had previously served the townships of Lower Providence and Wo

rcester. "Methacton" is an Native American word referring to the "hill" area extending from Eagleville in Lower Providence Township through the Fairview Village area of Worcester Township, one of the highest elevations in Montgomery County. The name was chosen by a majority vote of the community members residing in the District at the time. People make the difference for our children. The faculty and staff of the Methacton School District represent the very best that the field has to offer – dedicated individuals who are invested in the growth and success of our students. Approximately 75 percent of our faculty members have obtained advanced degrees. Many involve themselves in our students' educational experience beyond the classroom as club sponsors, advisers and coaches. Greater than ten percent are members of another elite group – they're Methacton alumni. A figure like that demonstrates true loyalty and a sincere desire to be a part of this community's future. Our dedicated support staff delivers integral services to our students throughout the school day and beyond. Each school year more than 5,000 students students are transported over 1.3 million miles by dedicated bus drivers and are greeted by nearly 800 exemplary educators and support staff. Our facilities include buildings totaling over 911,000 square feet of space on 214 acres and are maintained by a committed group of custodians and maintenance staff. These facilities include Methacton High School; Arcola Intermediate School; Skyview Upper Elementary School; Arrowhead, Eagleville, Woodland and Worcester elementary schools. Huge congratulations to Bo Bernstein, Angela Bravo, Gautam Harsha, and Alyssa Sardo for successfully completing the prestigious AP Capstone diploma program! These talented students recently presented their year-long independent research findings to an audience of peers and faculty.

This two-year College Board program—comprising AP Seminar and AP Research—challenges students to master advanced, college-level skills in research, analysis, collaboration, and public speaking.

Check out the incredible, diverse topics they tackled under the guidance of AP Research instructor Mr. John Foley:

▪️ Analyzing the Correlation between Political Identification and Personal Ideology Among Young Gen Z Americans (Bernstein)
▪️ Assessing the Achievement Gap Based on Student Perceptions of School Climate (Bravo)
▪️ Energy Drink Consumption Patterns and Academic Performance in Secondary Education (Harsha)
▪️ The Ecological Impact of Golf Course Runoff and Eutrophication (Sardo)

We are incredibly proud of these students' hard work and dedication to academic excellence. A special thank you to Mr. Foley for his invaluable mentorship and dedication to their growth!
