At last week’s Board of Supervisor’s meeting, Sgt. Higgins, Sgt. Singleton, Cpl. Gill, Ofc. Cutting, Ofc. Arthur, Det. Nastasi, Det. Barber, Ofc. Luong, and Ofc. Hirsch received a Distinguished Unit Commendation for their exceptional police work during a homicide investigation and arrest.

Their swift response, teamwork, and thorough investigative efforts led to the safe apprehension of the suspect shortly after the incident. We are proud to recognize their dedication and professionalism in service to the Lower Providence Township community.

Lower Providence Township Police Sergeant Charles King graduates the Mid-Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar (MALEEDS).

Sergeant Charles King graduated MALEEDS on June 12, 2026 at Princeton University, where it has been held since 1993. This unique education opportunity is designed to provide advanced leadership training for police chiefs and law enforcement executives. It is recognized as one of the premier, most selective law enforcement leadership programs in the country.

This dynamic, in‑depth educational program is proudly co‑sponsored by the Newark, New York, and Philadelphia Divisions of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).

Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, PA, is currently accepting resumes for the position of full-time police officer.

To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

-At least 21 years of age by the deadline for submitting a resume.
-A current resident of Pennsylvania at the time of appointment.
-Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license at the time of appointment.
-High School diploma or GED.
-Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
-Physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of a police officer.
-Successfully completed Act 120 training through an academy certified by the PA Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) and be able to meet the certification standards of the MPOETC as required by PA Act 120; or qualify for a waiver of training.
-Successfully complete an oral interview, medical, psychological, and polygraph exams and a thorough background investigation.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of attending the ARC Alliance Family Resource Fair. We were able to connect with individuals, families, caregivers, and community partners from across the region. The fair showcased the many organizations working together to strengthen our community.

Thank you to The Arc Alliance for hosting another great event and for bringing together so many dedicated agencies and service providers. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with residents, answer questions, and continue building partnerships that help individuals and families access the support they need.
