In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

From everyone here at the Earlville Police Department pays tribute to all those we have lost and those that continue to wear the badge for their communities. πŸ’™πŸ’™

So yesterday was matching / twin day at school. SRO Felecia has a Pre K student who wants to be a police officer , as you can see by the picture she drew. So yesterday being what it was we decided that this student and Miss Felecia would match each other. So she came to school dressed with black shirt and pants. Miss Felecia did a swearing in ceremony for her with her classmates cheering her on and pinned patches and a badge on her and gave her pink handcuffs , because as you can see in the picture she drew them on there in her hand. lol. So introducing Police Officer Miss Espe. What a super fun day.

If atmospheric conditions align favorably tomorrow, central and northern Illinois may experience 15+ tornadoes. πŸŒͺ️⚠️ A volatile setup with strong instability, a warm front, and favorable wind shear could facilitate the development of multiple supercells. Please remain vigilant and take necessary safety precautions.
