We had a T-Rex-cellent time with the Sac County Naturalist today! 🦖

From crafting dinosaur headbands to playing Dinosaur Bingo, our young patrons practiced fine motor skills, color recognition, and learned all about dinosaurs. Thanks for visiting us! 🦕📚

Today for our Early Literacy Program, we enjoyed a snack, listened to our friend Gloria read to us about the ABCs, and played with playdough and alphabet cards. Our little learners had a great time rolling and manipulating the dough to form the shape of each letter!

We had a fun morning welcoming Schaller-Crestland's Transportation Director, Brady Luy, as our guest reader! He read the book 'Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!' and shared bus safety tips with our group.

After the story, we got to enjoy a fun ride around Early in a school bus! For several of our young readers, this was their very first time stepping onto a school bus. Getting familiar with the bus before that big first day of school is such an important way to build confidence and comfort.

To wrap up our morning, everyone created a school bus craft and enjoyed delicious school bus cookies!

A huge thank you to Brady Luy for giving our kids such a memorable and reassuring experience ahead of the new school year!

Today at our Early Literacy Program, we were excited to welcome library board member Kathy Robley as our special guest reader! Kathy shared 'Miss Spider's Tea Party', and everyone enjoyed listening to the story.

We hosted our own tea party with juice and made adorable edible spiders using Oreos, pretzels, chocolate chips, and frosting. Along the way, we practiced counting, strengthened our fine motor skills, and worked on our listening skills, all while having lots of fun.

Of course the best part was getting to eat our spider creations! Thank you, Kathy, for spending the morning with us and helping make our Early Literacy Program so much fun!
