MoodleUS has applied a patch to the nationwide outage yesterday. We have tested our systems this morning, and PCVA courses all seem to be online. If you're having a problem, first log out of any tab you are signed into and restart your Chromebook. If you have other issues, you need to power wash your Chromebook. Reach out to your teachers if you are still having issues.

Most courses in PCVA, 360 Academy, and VirtualSC are on the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). There is a nationwide issue with this platform, so it is currently unavailable for use. Computer engineers will work through the night on repairs and fixes. Check again tomorrow after 11 AM.

Students taking the following courses in Canvas or Schoology may and should continue working:

Middle School Physical Education - Schoology

PCVA Personal Finance - Canvas

PCVA Algebra 1 - Canvas

PCVA Pre-Calculus CP - Canvas

PCVA Earth Science - Canvas

Thank you for understanding! We hope everything is up and running again tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Lori Gwinn

PCVA Director

Many students in PCVA speak multiple languages fluently. If you are classified as a Junior or Senior check with your high school counselor to find out how to earn the Seal of Biliteracy. Applications are due by Dec 11.

🔥 DANIEL MAKES A STATEMENT! LIONS ROLL PAST PICKENS 49–21 IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS

📍 Pickens, SC | October 16, 2026

Two undefeated teams entered Friday night's highly anticipated conference showdown. Only one walked away with its perfect record intact.

And Daniel left little doubt about who was in control.

The Lions delivered an explosive offensive performance, handing Pickens its first loss of the season with a convincing 49–21 road victory.

⭐ JACE GRASS PUT ON A SHOW!

Daniel quarterback Jace Grass threw FIVE touchdown passes, connecting with multiple receivers as the Lions repeatedly found ways to attack the Pickens defense.

Daniel jumped ahead 14–0 in the opening quarter and carried a commanding 28–7 advantage into halftime.

By the end of the third quarter, the Lions had stretched that lead to 42–7.

But Pickens wasn't finished.

Blue Flame quarterback Brooks Dow sparked a fourth-quarter rally, scoring on a four-yard run and connecting with Will Stone for a touchdown to cut the deficit to 42–21.

Daniel answered with one final statement: a 30-yard touchdown pass from Grass to NaShaun Jones.

PCVA currently offers coursework to 243 students in grades 6-12 in the School District of Pickens County. We just completed the first quarter of the year, and eligible students have completed 88 courses and earned the graduation credits for these courses. This coursework is rigorous, fast-paced, standards-aligned, grade level work. Expectations are high, and this achievement speaks volumes about the quality of student in our program! Congratulations to our students and the teachers supporting them behind the scenes!

Congratulations to Mrs. Hydrick, HS English, and Mrs. Baldwin, MS Math. They are recognized by students in PCVA as Champions for Connection and Community Building. Their students identify them as putting in extra efforts to get to know students, getting to know students beyond the screen, and following up with students to make sure they are valued and seen. Mrs. Chilton and Mrs. Double also received honorable mentions by students during this process.

We look forward to recognizing PCVA Campions for Digital Innovation and Engagement during the next quarter.

We appreciate all of the above and beyond these individuals invest in our students!
