Standard Response Protocol (SRP)
SDPC uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to provide students, employees, families, and first responders with clear, consistent language during an emergency.

The SRP provides consistent, clear, and shared language and actions among all students, staff, and first responders that can be applied in any emergency. The SRP is used by schools and institutions across the nation, giving students, staff, parents, communities, and first responders a common language and course of action.

Through this approach, members of the campus community will utilize the five SRP actions to define their decisions when responding to an emergency situation. These actions are:

HOLD - "In Your Room or Area. Clear the Halls"

SECURE - "Get Inside. Lock Outside Doors"

LOCKDOWN - "Locks, Lights, Out of Sight"

EVACUATE - To the Announced Location

SHELTER - Stating Hazard and Safety Strategy

Understanding these terms can help families know what is happening and how our schools are responding during an emergency.

Keeping our students, employees, families, and visitors safe is a shared responsibility. As the school year begins, we want families to be aware of several important safety resources and procedures.

NEW: Safety Procedures for SDPC Athletic Events
Beginning this fall, SDPC is introducing two safety measures for spectators attending athletic events:

A clear bag policy will be in effect at all SDPC athletic events.

Evolv weapons detection screening will be used at select athletic events.

Our first use of Evolv at an athletic event will be the Football Jamboree at Easley High School on Friday, August 14.

Clear Bag Policy
Spectators should plan to bring only approved bags, including:

Clear totes no larger than 12" x 6" x 12"

One-gallon resealable clear plastic storage bags

Small clutches or purses no larger than 6.5" x 4.5"

Seat cushions with backs no larger than 16" wide

Diaper and medical bags, which are permitted but may be inspected

Backpacks, large purses, f***y packs, belt bags, camera bags, mesh bags, oversized totes, and other bags larger than the approved sizes will not be permitted.

Evolv Screening — Select Athletic Events
At selected events, guests will walk through an Evolv weapons detection system before entering. When Evolv is in use:

Walk through the screening system as directed.

Keep your keys, wallet, and cell phone in your pockets.

Follow directions from SDPC staff and law enforcement.

If the system alerts, staff will conduct a secondary screening before entry.

Please allow a little extra time when arriving at events where Evolv screening is being used.
