In the event of a major outage, our crews work to fix problems that will benefit the most people in the shortest amount of time. Restoration efforts are not prioritized based on when an outage was reported, location (not including vulnerable populations), or the statuses of customer accounts.

Lloyd here. Let’s talk about ECU’s free Budget Billing plan. Your payment is based on your average utility charges from the previous year, plus 10% to help cover potential increases. You’ll make 11 equal monthly payments, followed by a 12th-month reconciliation to settle any overpayment or underpayment. Future payment plans are adjusted as needed. Each bill shows your actual charges, account balance, and Budget Billing amount—the amount due. Interested? Call ECU at 864-859-4013.

Lloyd here. It doesn’t look or feel like this heat is giving things up any time soon. Here are a couple of new pointers I read up on this week to help us and our air conditioning units. 1) Don’t turn the AC off when you leave home. Instead, raise the temperature by 5-8 degrees so your AC doesn’t have to work too hard to cool things down again. 2) Use your exhaust fan during and after a shower. That extra humidity can make your AC work harder than it needs to. Stay cool, neighbors.
