The Village of East Alton Water Department will be visiting certain neighborhoods beginning this week (May 26th) to gather information regarding residential water service lines as part of an ongoing project. Water Department employees may knock on your door to briefly check whether your service line is copper, plastic, or galvanized. The inspection only takes approximately 5-10 minutes.

If no one is home at the time of the visit, a door tag will be left, and you will need to contact the Water Department at (618) 259-6521 to schedule an appointment for a quick inspection to be made for the information necessary for the project to be gathered.

Please do not be alarmed if you see Water Department staff in your neighborhood - this is simply part of an important information-gathering process for our records and future planning.

The following streets are included in this phase of the project:
Ohio, Bonds, W. McCasland, Victory, N. Pence, Smith, Herman, Shamrock, W. St. Louis Ave., S. Pence, E. St. Louis Ave., Washington, Lincoln, Monroe, Bowman, 5th Street, and 6th Street.

We appreciate your cooperation and assistance with this project.

Today, we pause to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and service of the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom.
Their legacy lives on in the heart of our community and our country.

From all of us at the Village of East Alton, thank you, and may we never forget.

The Village of East Alton invites residents and community members to attend a special dedication ceremony on Thursday, June 4th at 1:30 p.m. at the Keasler Complex, located at 615 Third Street in East Alton, celebrating the addition of a new electronic sign and two commemorative benches.

The benches being dedicated are in honor of two longtime Park & Recreation employees Ann Hill and Bob Angleton for their years of service and dedication to the community.

The new electronic sign was generously donated by the Riverbend East Rotary Foundation. We hope you will join us for this special occasion as we celebrate these meaningful additions to the Keasler Complex and our community.
