Per the Town of Aurora Clerk, Waste Management garbage pick-up for Town of Aurora residents (outside of the village) will be on the regular day this week.

12/27/2022

Please, please, please DO NOT Drive to the City of Buffalo. Roads are impassable and crews need room to work over the next two days, or more, to clear streets.

12/27/2022

NYSEG doesn’t specifically list the Town of Aurora but with such a large wide, area it’s hard to believe at least some of our residents won’t be affected.

12/26/2022

The travel ban has been lifted in the Town of Aurora. Please note that as of this writing several state roads are still closed, including Route 400. Please continue to exercise caution.

12/26/2022

No Village Trash Collection Monday, December 26th and Tuesday, December 27th. Regular collection schedule is expected to resume on Wednesday, December 28th. No make-up collection for Monday or Tuesday, but double the collection amount is allowed for any customers with missed days (Fri., 12/23, Mon., 12/26 & Tues., 12/27). Note that Village streets are in good shape, thanks to our DPW, however Modern is based out of Lancaster that was harder hit than here and many Modern employees live in areas where there remains a driving ban, so they cannot report to work safely. We regret any inconvenience and ask for understanding from the public.

Happy Hollidays and Merry Christmas. We know you are all eager to spend time with loved ones today but please keep in mind that the driving ban is still in effect and conditions are unpredictable. Unfortunately the Town of Aurora is just now in the cross hairs of the snow band. Accidents are being reported included a tractor trailer that recently jackknifed on route 20A in white out conditions. Will notify when the ban is lifted. Stay safe and warm. Please call the EA Police Department at 716-652-1111 for emergency assistance. Warming centers are available.

The Village DPW is working on clearing all Village sidewalks at this time. It is a time consuming task and will likely take 2-3 days. Please be patient as we work our way through all the Village streets and clear the dense, heavy snow. Thank you for your patience.

Please note that while sidewalk maintenance normally is the responsibility of the property owner, due to the storm impact the Village and DPW thought it important to clear all sidewalks. Thank you, again, for your patience.

With the large amount of snowfall it is important to check your furnace vents to make sure they are not blocked with snow and avoid any carbon monoxide build up inside your home. If you have elderly neighbors that cannot get outside, please check on them and their vents as well. Stay Safe everyone.
