The East Bend Police Department needs help identifying these subjects. EBPD would like to speak with these individuals regarding an incident that occurred at Family Dollar / Dollar Tree in East Bend. Since our post last week, regarding break-ins in the county and elsewhere, there have been some major developments to share. More information will be released soon by the collective task force of agencies that have worked to bring this succession of crimes to an end.

For now, we can report that 61 felony charges and 20 misdemeanor charges have been filed for such cases just in Yadkin County. Two individuals involved with break-ins in Yadkin County are in law enforcement custody and a third individual is charged. The two in custody are each being held under $500,000.00 in secured bonds for charges in Yadkin County and an additional $115,000.00 in combined secured bonds for charges in other counties.

Other individuals involved in the string of break-ins, but who perpetrated break-ins in other jurisdictions (now known to span 7 counties), are facing dozens of felonies and misdemeanors as well.

The list of counties affected now includes: Yadkin, Davie, Stokes, Forsyth, Davidson, Rowan, and Rockingham.

Sheriff Smitherman would like to thank the citizens of Yadkin County for their resilience and assistance during this time. And our Sheriff’s Office as a whole would like to extend thanks for assistance from (and ongoing cooperation with) the following agencies:

As this is still an ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time. However, as stated above, much more information will be released in the coming days by our agency in conjunction with other agencies involved in the investigations.

On Saturday morning November 4th, 2023, East Bend Police initiated a traffic stop of Joaquin S Jimenez 27 years old of East Bend. Jimenez failed to stop, fled from the officer and resisted arrest. Jimenez’s blew over three times the legal limit and was issued a $7,500.00 bond.

Jimenez was charged with the following:

-Flee to Elude Arrest
-Driving While Impaired
-Resisting a Public Officer
-Possess Open Container
-Speeding
-Driving While License Revoked for Impaired Revocation
-No Liability Insurance
-Left of Center
-Seatbelt
