Wharton County Constable's Office - Precinct 2

Wharton County Constable's Office - Precinct 2 Welcome to the Official page of the Wharton County Constable’s Office - Precinct #2. A little background about the department……. I am Constable John A.

We encourage and look forward to your input and feedback in matters dealing with WCCO #2, our community and county. The Wharton County Constable’s Office in Precinct #2 is excited to launch our new departmental page. WCCO #2 is located in Northern Wharton County, Texas, and is approximately 45 miles Southwest of Houston. WCCO #2 provides law enforcement service and protection to the citiz

ens of Precinct #2 and assist agencies throughout all of Wharton County. Constables are constitutionally elected peace officers and have the same powers of arrest as other sheriff’s deputies and municipal police officers. Constables and their deputies may enforce traffic laws, make arrests, conduct investigations, and file criminal charges anywhere within their precinct and county. Where we differ from most other law enforcement officers, we have additional duties of executing civil process for the courts and are responsible for providing courtroom security for the justice courts within our precincts. Szymanski, or better known as J.A. to my friends. I began my career as Constable in April of 1992. I was first appointed after winning the 1992 Primary Election, and since I was unopposed in the fall, I began my career in law enforcement and public service. My first official term was January 1, 1993 and on January 1, 2013, I am honored to be starting my sixth term in office. WCCO #2 has grown from a one officer department, to a 12 officer department, in what seems like just a few short years. WCCO #2 operates with both paid and part-time personnel, 4 paid (including myself) and 8 part-time deputies. I owe a lot of my success to my devoted staff that protects the citizens with their many duties. The department operates patrol, traffic enforcement, civil process service, warrant service, courtroom security for justice and county courts, arson investigations, and countywide environmental enforcement services. Another unique service that WCCO #2 provides, is EMS response. 7 out of the 12 personnel are trained at emergency medicine, 6 are paramedics and 1 is an EMT- Intermediate and routinely assist local EMS services at medical and accident scenes. I am proud of our close working relationships with other area law enforcement agencies and schools within our precinct.
