The East Bernstadt Independent Board of Education set a 2027 general fund tax levy of 40.0 cents on real property and 40.0 cents on personal property. The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 41.1 cents on real property and 48.0 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $383,942.16. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 40.0 cents on real property and 40.0 cents on personal property is expected to produce $419,337.41. Of this amount, $1,431.19 is from new and personal property.

The proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The general areas to which revenue of $35,395.25 above 2026 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $1,155.79; building fund, $12,279.37; instruction, $11,557.94; transportation, $6.549.50; and maintenance of plant, $3,852.65.
