Last night at the City Council meeting two of our candidates were pinned and sworn in as firefighters. This marks the end of a long journey through probation and the start of a career here as badged and sworn firefighters.

Thank you and congrats to Firefighters Alford & Boyum. Thank you to the families for your sacrificies over the last year. Thank you to the mentors and senior firefighters that guiuded these two young men through the process.

Once again, congratulations and continue to keep up the great work of serving and protecting the community.

Monday July 27th 2026 you may see our apparatus and crews out and about for training. They plan to perform brief "Roll Up Drills" which will involve simulating an intial response to a structure fire at certain addresses around town.

If you see us, feel free to say hello, but please keep a safe distance away from our apparatus and crews while they set up.

All simulations will be away from main thoroughfairs to prevent any traffic congestion or other issues.

New candidate Cherrier completed initial orientation this afternoon and has taken the first steps in her year long journey towards becoming a sworn firefighter for the East Bethel Fire Department.

Last night 5 of our candidates took a major step towards completing their probationary period. Candidate Firefighters Alford, Boyum, Christianson, Krey & Millette graduated from the Anoka County Fire Academy.

This is the result of countless hours of classroom & hands-on training, studying and exams.

Thank you to the families of these candidates. Their dreams and our mission would ultimately fail without your support.

Congratulations Candidates. Never stop learning and striving to be better at your craft. We look forward to watching you grow and develop in your careers. Your community is lucky to have you serving.

Congratulations to our newest pinned and sworn officer! Lieutenant Bailey has proven himself as a dedicated professional with the department and has absolutely earned the new bugle on his collar and badge. Congrats again Lieutenant Bailey. Keep up the outstanding work!
