Dear Friends and Neighbors,

2028 marks a truly special milestone for our community—the 200th anniversary of Lake Lashaway in East and North Brookfield! As we come together to honor two centuries of natural beauty, cherished memories, and shared history, we’re asking for your help in creating a lasting tribute to the lake we all love.

We are collecting stories, personal anecdotes, and photographs with captions that celebrate Lake Lashaway’s rich past and vibrant present. Whether it’s a tale from childhood summers, a family tradition, a memorable fishing trip, or a stunning sunset photo—your contributions will help us paint a beautiful, collective portrait of life on and around the lake.

Please send your stories and images to [email protected] or mail them to Lake Lashaway 200th Anniversary Committee, Memorial Town Complex, 122 Connie Mack Drive, East Brookfield, MA 01515. If you have a photo that you don’t want to part with, let us know, we can set up a time to scan it to a digital copy!

When you send something, you are giving us permission to use it in an upcoming commemorative display, booklet, or online archive as part of the 200th anniversary celebration. Please include:
• Your name and contact information
• A brief description or caption for any photos
• Approximate date or year of the memory or image

Let’s celebrate the spirit of Lake Lashaway—past, present, and future—together. Thank you for being part of this special occasion!

Warm regards,
Brandon Avery, North Brookfield Historical Society

Exercise your right to vote this Tuesday. It is right others have fought for, organized for and rallied for. Before 1920, women could only vote for school committee. This is a list of the women registered voters in East Brookfield who were able to vote for the first time in a national election in 1920.
