Every second Monday of the month, East Brookfield Fire and EMS takes part in routine training. This past Monday we had the opportunity to use the old Car 2, which was headed for the junk yard, to practice extraction of patients who may be trapped inside a vehicle after a major accident. This gave members the opportunity to practice using the tools we have on E2 and E3 that are often used on scene to gain access to patients. We are very thankful for this opportunity to have real hands on training. These trainings allow the department to be ready for all types of vehicular emergencies and allows the department to confirm everything is in working condition.

On the first Monday of the each month, the department comes together to check all our trucks to be sure everything is in working condition. This involves going through every truck and each piece of equipment to confirm it’s working and in ready condition for any emergency. Thank you to our members who commit to this each first Monday of the month after finishing their full time work commitments!

Many of you may have noticed a mailing made by the East Brookfield Fire Association asking for your help to fund certain things that are outside our regular budget. The association works throughout the year to raise funds to provide the funding needed for relief to EMS and fire personnel who experience injuries while on duty, community outreach and the materials needed to carry out town wide celebrations and ceremonies.
Thank you so much to those who have donated. The letter that went out is attached below and we are grateful for the community support!
