“I just love this experience,” stated Alicia Bridges, reflecting on her role as an advocate with CASA of Middlesex County. “It brings me so much joy to work with these young people and give back at this level.” Her words were meaningful, not just because of her commitment to our mission (on top of juggling a full-time job as a chef in NYC), but also because of her own lived experience in the foster care system after losing both of her parents at a young age.

While Alicia understands the complexity that surrounds this work, she is also keenly aware of how consistency, presence, and compassion can lead to incredible outcomes for a vulnerable young person. It’s a privilege to know Alicia and to witness her commitment to the individuals that we serve.

Last night, the CASA of Middlesex County team and our dedicated volunteer advocates gathered for an inspiring presentation by our Equity Team on Intercultural Effectiveness. The room buzzed with thoughtful conversation as we explored how to better support children in out-of-home placements from every background. Many thanks to the IIslamic Center of East Brunswickfor hosting us and making the evening truly unforgettable.

A BIG shout out to Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ, Inc. Troop 81469 for their incredible support! These awesome kids elected to use revenue generated from cookie sales to build care packages for the infants that we serve. Even better, they designed each bag with uplifting images and messages. We are truly inspired by their creativity and generosity!
