Members of EBIFC had another busy 24 hours. Members first started the weekend taking a Truck Company Operations class taught by All Hands Fire. We would like to thank the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department for hosting this training. Members enhanced their skills in ventilation, search and rescue and ground ladder operations.

During all this, members assisted multiple departments with structure fires over the last 24 hours, which included:

Melrose Hose Company #1 (Sayreville)
East Franklin Fire Department (Franklin Township)
City of New Brunswick Fire Department

Once again, your Volunteers from EBIFC just returned from assisting the City of New Brunswick Fire Department with a working structure fire in an auto body shop with extension to a residence. Truck Company 809 positioned a block over and knocked remaining fire in the rear of the auto body shop as well as protected the other residential houses at risk.

Truck 809 was supplied with water by North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company 1.

EBIFC has kept busy over the past two days. On Monday evening, around 17:30 hours, EBIFC was requested for one Truck Company to assist the Milltown Fire Department with a working structure fire. Truck Company 809 arrived on scene with a crew of 5 and was assigned to the roof to open up and check for further extension.

Yesterday evening, around 19:30 hours, all three Township Fire Districts were alerted for a reported structure fire. Chief 700 of the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department arrived and confirmed a two story single family residential with smoke and fire showing from the bravo/charlie corner. Engine Company 805 arrived and laid their own supply line into the scene
and stretched a hand line to the front door for fire attack. Squad 806 arrived shortly after deploying a second line for operation in the rear of the structure and knocking down the bulk of the fire. Ladder 801 arrived and positioned in the front of the residence and the crew made their way to the roof to complete vertical ventilation for crews operating inside. Members of the Brookview Volunteer Fire Company also operated on scene assisting in overhaul and ventilation.

There were no injuries to report on residents as everyone safely made it out of the structure.

Thank you to our mutual aid partners who provided in town coverage while all East Brunswick Fire Departments operated on scene:

The last 24 hours, EBIFC has kept busy with multiple calls for service. A township general alarm was struck at 03:30 this morning for a structure fire in the Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department first due area. Units made quick work containing the fire to its point of origin.

Around 03:45am EBIFC was dispatched for a Natural Gas line struck on the corner of Milltown Road and Willow Street. Thank you to the Brookview Volunteer Fire Company for assisting with that incident, while multiple units were tied up on the structure fire.

Around 11:30am this morning, EBIFC was alerted for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment, Engine 803, Engine 805, Ladder 801 and Assistant Chief 850 safely extricated 3 victims. While wrapping up from that incident, EBIFC was dispatched for a smoke condition in a basement of a residence. Members located a small fire in the crawl space and extinguished before further extension.

And finally, around 1:30pm all three Fire Districts were alerted for a kayaker that had fell into the Farrington Lake. The Kayaker and his friend were able to safely get to shore where members from Engine 803, Assistant Chief 850, and the East Brunswick Police Department safely packaged the victim into a stokes basket and bought to EMS for further evaluation. We are happy to announce the Kayaker was uninjured as well as his service dog. A great job by all members these last few hours.
