REPLENISH is thankful to all or our partners, volunteers and supporters. At this time we would like to provide special recognition and thanks to our 2021 Hunger Heroes for the work they’ve done to combat food insecurity in partnership with REPLENISH and Feeding Middlesex County. This year’s awardees are detailed below and you can watch this video to hear directly from the honorees themselves about the work they do and why it is important to them. 2021 Hunger Hero Award Recipients The Tom Ellison Food Pantry Volunteer Hunger Hero Award of 2021 Nominations were received from our partner food pantries and the awardee was selected by the family of Tom Ellison, our warehouse manager who passed away in 2020. Tom’s dedication to REPLENISH went far above and beyond his job here, Tom made contributions and investments in the program that have left a long-lasting legacy. Betty Crews of Peter’s Pantry in Perth Amboy is this year’s recipient. Betty exemplifies Tom’s legacy of putting others before herself and always looking for ways to improve pantry operations and better serve residents. Corporate Hunger Hero Awarded to Liberty Coca Cola. Brian Fitzpatrick and Liberty Coca Cola have been a partner of REPLENISH for the last 13 years and have contributed over 450,000 pounds of product. Additionally, Liberty Coca Cola has provided volunteers at our facility and at food drive events as part of their commitment to giving back to the community. Community Hunger Hero Awarded to Isabelle Goldman. Isabelle has volunteered with REPLENISH at our facility for a couple of years. During the pandemic when we were unable to continue utilizing volunteers on site Isabelle turned her artistic talents into a fundraiser to benefit Feeding Middlesex County. She made beautiful paintings on canvases and sold them to friends and families during the holidays. All proceeds were donated to Feeding Middlesex County.
