Thank you to the Bank of Greene County for the generous donation! Vice President Johnny Bondrew attended and brought along our new to us 8-8! The donation is going to go towards better outfitting 8-8 and 8-9 and our members for traffic control and safety while working in and around the roadways of town!

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2026 Charitable Foundation Awards Ceremony at our Cairo branch! This year we are awarding $534,000 to local organizations!

This week is EMS week. Dedicated to those individuals who go sleepless shifts handling everything from a stubbed toe to a cardiac arrest, from first response to BLS, and ALS. Whether they operate a Fire Truck, Fly Car, Ambulance, or Helicopter! We appreciate them beyond just this week, as they very rightfully should be appreciated all the time!!

For today's sunday drill, we were joined by Oak Hill-Durham Volunteer Fire Co. Who brought ETA 21-1, and their new to them TA 21-2. We practiced pulling a draft drom a few water sources and then practiced a Tanker Shuttle on sunside road. The first draft site on 145 had about a 25 ft drop to the creek below, and our ETA 8-7 handled it like a champion! Shoutout to our fire police squad who protected us at these locations! For those who dont know, the signs they carry which are both red and orange with letters on them, the red side that says "STOP" means you shall not pass. The Orange side which says "SLOW" means to proceed at a reduced speed to protect those working on the side of the road.
