East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department

East Enterprise FD was dispatched on 4/9 at 7:10 pm to Allensville Road for a person stuck in a grain bin. With the assistance from Jeff Craig FD, Moorefield FD, Switzerland County Emergency Response, and some local farmers/relatives the person was successfully removed from the bin at 9:00 pm. The person was freed using a grain bin rescue system and was able to climb out of the bin under his own power. If you have not seen this system before the yellow pieces are a tube that is placed around the person and then the corn is removed from inside the tube. The blue pieces you see in the corn is to help distribute the weight of the rescuers so they do not sink into the corn. Thanks to everyone who assisted!

East Enterprise VFD responded to a school bus fire this morning a little after 7am. I’ll kids evacuated the bus and there were no injuries. The bus driver and kids did a great job evacuating the bus. EEVFD was assisted by Bear Branch Fire, Posey Township Fire, and Switzerland County Emergency Response.
