EfforTZ is an all-volunteer nonprofit that works to provide a quality education to Tanzania's children so that they may have better lives and contribute to the betterment of their communities and country. We provide educational scholarships to save Maasai girls from forced marriages and orphaned boys from a life on the streets of Tanzania.

Natanga'mwaki is one of our success stories. She joined our program 10 years ago. She was a good student and worked hard, and thanks to the support of St. Barnabas’s Episcopal Church Falmouth, she was able to complete her education. Now, her dream of becoming a nurse has come true. Our partner, Emusoi Center, has put together a video, at https://youtu.be/Y2LUMLwSpX8, about her journey. After you see it, I think you’ll be as proud of her as we are.

We held our annual student reception at the end of December for our scholarship students who were home on school break. The last several years we've held it in the village of Eluai, where most of our girls are from. The girls danced and sang for an audience of parents and villagers, educators, and EfforTZ supporters, plus there were speeches and the handing out of letters from sponsors and our founders.

Nearly 60% of the children in the Tanzanian public primary schools aren't lucky enough to have a pencil. Please help us change this. We've only reached 25% of our goal to provide supplies and books to over 1,200 children. Visit our website at www.effortz4kidz.org to donate. Thank you, Sheryl Seyfert, Mary Dupont, and Bebe and Fred Dudley.

EfforTZ Foundation provides an education to Tanzania's most disadvantaged children, including Maasai girls who would be sold into marriage and orphan boys who were living on the streets.

Once again we need help providing school supplies for the children of Tanzania. We’re asking for FINANCIAL DONATIONS to purchase the supplies in Tanzania. This will allow us to avoid the cost of transporting them to the country. You can help by sending a check to our office at 447 Davisville Road, East Falmouth, MA, 02536 or donating on our website at www.effortz4kidz.org.

Below is a photo of students at Eluwai Primary School after receiving supplies from our last drive. Won’t you help them once again?

Our new group of Maasai scholarship students are headed off to public secondary school. We are so grateful to all of you who have helped make this a possibility. Instead of being forced into marriage by their fathers they are getting a chance to receive an education!

EfforTZ Foundation needs help providing impoverished students and public schools in Tanzania with school supplies (pencils, pens, paper) and classroom furniture (like benches, which are used as desks, chairs and white boards). To save the cost of shipping, we're planning to purchase the supplies in Tanzania. As a result, we're asking for monetary donations. You can make a donation online at www.effortz4kidz.org or mail a check to EfforTZ Foundation at 447 Davisville Road, East Falmouth, MA 02536.

On Monday, March 16, the Tanzanian Prime Minister officially confirmed the first case of COVID-19 in Arusha, Tanzania, where our office and orphan home is located and where most of our 68 scholars attend school. As a result, the Tanzanian government has taken the pro-active step of temporarily closing all schools. We have made arrangements for our Maasai girls to be transported to their village and our boys to our home in Arusha.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is scaling up preparedness efforts for the coronavirus on the African continent. The disease is particularly serious in countries like Tanzania with inadequate health systems, serious chronic illnesses such as HIV, and a population for whom social distancing will be difficult, especially in the overcrowded cities.

We hope you and your families remain in good health as we all weather this very difficult time.

Some really good news! Joseph Gody, one of our former scholarship students, loved art. We supported his ambition to become an artist and he has now set up his own website to showcase his work. He received accreditation at the Kiranyi School of Arts in 2016 and is currently working for the Swahili Art Group. Take a look at his website at https://www.jgody.com/.
