Upward road at King Road to Deep Gap is closed at this time. You can access King road but can't go passed it. Please avoid this area. We will send a follow up post as soon as the road opens. Thank you for your patience.

Ladder 14-2 UPDATE

The Truck Committee traveled to Safe Industries in Easley SC to observe the build and progress of Ladder 2. This visit is an important opportunity to ensure that the apparatus is being built to specification, meets all operational requirements, and reflects the needs of our department and community. Committee members will review the progress, inspect key components, and address any questions directly with the builder to help ensure the final product meets the highest standards of safety, functionality, and reliability.

With the minimum rain we have received this week, it still was not enough to eliminate the State wide burn ban that has been in place.
The NC Statewide ban on open burning still remains until further notice.

Career Day at Hillandale Elementary on Wednesday 4/22

We were able to give them a glimpse into the many things we do as firefighters. Students asked thought provoking questions such as "What are the best and worst parts of the job?", "What made you want to be a firefighter?" And much more!

We were impressed with their interest and loved helping them explore firefighting as career.

Thank you to Hillandale Elementary School for always including us and thank you to all of the other organizations that showed up for the kids!

Congratulations to A-Shift Firefighter Hampton Marlowe on successfully completing his probationary firefighter term at Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue.
During a Firefighter’s probationary period a new employee is presented tasks and objectives that must be completed.
FF Marlowe completed his final scenario where he was presented his new shield.
