Due to low water levels on the river, the LaFave Park ADA dock has been closed for the season. We apologize for any inconveniences this may pose. There's still time, however, to use the main dock and kayak launch before the cold season falls upon us! 🛶

The 2026 East Grand Forks Deer Management Hunt Registration is now open!

The City of East Grand Forks uses controlled archery hunts to help manage the urban deer population while providing a limited hunting opportunity for local hunters.

Hunters: Be sure to review the full Deer Management Plan and follow all City and Minnesota DNR requirements.

Non-hunters: Sections of the Greenway will be closed during hunt dates. Please watch for trail signage and stay up-to-date through EGF Parks & Recreation's website and page.

Special Hunt Registration is open through September 9th at 11:59 p.m. CST.

🎃 SAVE THE DATE! 👻

The 7th Annual Skate or Treat is set for Tuesday, October 27!

This year, we’re bringing the Halloween fun to a NEW LOCATION — the EGF Civic Center! Plan to join us from 5:00–7:00 PM for indoor trick-or-treating, carnival-style games, ice skating, and plenty of Halloween fun, all while supporting the Northern Lights Figure Skating Club!

More details coming soon, but for now… mark those calendars! 🕷️

Where did the summer go? 😩
Sherlock Park pool is announcing its final weeks of operation, with limited hours from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm beginning August 16th and the final day of operation for the season on August 20th.
Be sure to come out and make a splash before the summer is over. We hope to see you there!

Winter Activities Registration opens Monday, August 10!

As part of this update, our registration provider has transitioned from Sports Connect to PlayMetrics. That means registration will look a little different this season. All families, both new and returning, will need to create a new PlayMetrics account before registering for programs.
