LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO PICK CORN
When: Wednesday August 19th from 3-5. If this time slot does not work for you, please let us know.
We just received word of a fantastic opportunity for the food bank. A local farmer has offered a small field of sweet corn to the food bank. The catch is…we have to pick it. Sweet corn…especially this time of year…is highly desired by our agency partners and their clients. We want to get as much of this as possible and are looking for help to get it picked! The corn is located in a field just outside of East Grand Forks. Our plan is to pick corn from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. We are looking for as much help as possible during this time frame. You can participate for an hour, the whole time…whatever works best for you! The more people we have, the faster and easier it goes.
Please let us know if you and your group (i.e. family, friends, coworkers, acquaintances, strangers, etc.) are able to help as soon as possible, so we can begin finalizing our picking plans. Once we hear from you, we will send additional information and details about the location and plans. This is a great opportunity to outside and help give back to the community! The more corn we pick, the more corn we have available for neighbors struggling with hunger.
