North Pedestrian Bridge in Greenway System Closed starting on April 12th

The North Pedestrian Bridge in the greenway system will be closed as of April 12th due to anticipated rising flood waters and will be closed until further notice. Public Works staff will be removing the railings from the walking bridge.

Due to rising water, the Sorlie bridge on Demers will close at 10:30 AM this morning.

The on and off ramps and underpass area under Highway 2 are closed. The Point Bridge or Minnesota Avenue Bridge will be closed starting at 1pm today, April 24th.

Flood walls are also being installed which will close off River Road at 17th Street NW, 12th Avenue NW, and in the downtown area by the Veteran's memorial on 4th Street NW.

The City of East Grand Forks is asking for volunteers to help sandbag in Crookston.
Crookston is in URGENT NEED of volunteers. Report to East Grand Forks Fire St. #1 (415 4th St NW), north parking lot. Buses leaving at 12:30, running 4-hour shifts.
Please dress appropriately.

The Grand Forks - East Grand Forks Metropolitan Planning Organization is studying the future traffic impacts if a new bridge over the Red River is built at Elks Drive or 32nd Ave S. Also being studied is what impacts there are if another bridge isn’t built. The Open House will provide information to the public on the study draft purpose and need statement as well as the existing safety and traffic operations of the no build scenario.
