BREAKING: The Village Makes A Major League Signing!!

This past Friday, Mayor Jerry Larsen and the Village Board officially appointed Dave Browne as the Village of East Hampton’s new Chief Fire Marshal, and today was Dave’s first day on the job.

Judging by the welcome he received at Village Hall this morning, you would have thought we had just signed the biggest free agent of the offseason. We gave him a hat, jersey presentation, and all that was missing was the press conference.

But there’s a good reason for all the excitement. Dave brings tremendous experience, professionalism, and knowledge to this important position, and we couldn’t be happier to have him joining the Village team.

Every organization hopes that when an important position opens up, you can go out and find the right person for the job. We think we just signed an All-Star.

Welcome to the Village of East Hampton, Chief Browne!

A New Home for Our Historic Fire Trucks 🚒

Last Saturday, the Village of East Hampton proudly celebrated the Grand Opening of the East Hampton Fire Department’s Antique Barn, a project dedicated to preserving the remarkable history of one of our community’s oldest and most respected institutions.

Mayor Jerry Larsen, the Village Board of Trustees, and Chief Engineer Chris Hatch welcomed a large crowd of residents, firefighters, and supporters to mark this special occasion. The celebration culminated with a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by longtime East Hampton Fire Department member Keith Payne, officially opening the Antique Barn to the community.

Yesterday, Mayor Jerry Larsen had the distinct honor of presenting a Proclamation to Charles “Sherrill” Dayton in recognition of an extraordinary 37 years of service on the Village’s Design Review Board.

For nearly four decades, Sherrill helped preserve the character, beauty, and architectural integrity that make East Hampton Village “America’s Most Beautiful Village”. His commitment to our community have left a lasting mark on generations of residents and visitors alike.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we are also honored to celebrate an even more special occasion—today is Sherrill’s 90th Birthday.

Please join us in wishing Sherrill a very happy 90th birthday and thanking him for 37 years of distinguished service to the people of East Hampton.
