We're batty for early literacy! 🦇📚 Miss Caitlin invites kids & their grown-ups back to the Community Room tomorrow morning, Friday, October 16th at 10:30am for a spooky good time at Friday Craft Tales!

This week, Miss Caitlin will read "Bats at the Library" by Brian Lies, a classic and comedic story told in verse about a colony of bats enjoying a night in at their local library; afterward, inspired by the story, the kids can create colorful, magnetic bat decorations to take home with them! 🎨

Friday Crafty Tales from Hagaman Memorial Library's Youth Services Department is free, all materials are provided, and no RSVP is needed; for further information about Friday Crafty Tales or other Youth Services Department activities, please reach out to Caitlin Riccitelli, Hagaman Library's Youth Services Librarian, at [email protected].

After the phenomenal success of "Lessons in Chemistry," where do you go from there? Come on down to Hagaman Memorial Library to find out: Now available in our collection is the latest from Bonnie Garmus, "Peck & Peck"! We're here today, tomorrow, and Thursday for our Extended Hours from 10am - 8pm.

"Peck & Peck" by Bonnie Garmus follows Batter Gray, a young man passionate about poetry, as he navigates life in 1980s New York City after landing a job at the prestigious but dysfunctional poetry journal, Peck & Peck. The novel explores themes of ambition, creativity, and the struggles of an underdog in a world that often undervalues art.

Miss Caitlin of Hagaman Library's Youth Services Department is excited to welcome kids & families to her regularly-scheduled Toddler Tuesdays this morning, and she's also looking ahead to next week's fun with another meeting of Pokémon Club & STEM Club for Kids!

First up, Gengar: We chose you! Miss Caitlin will teach kids & their caregivers, if they're so inclined, how to draw Gengar on Tuesday, October 20th from 4:30 - 5:30pm in the DeMayo Room. In keeping with the spirit of the spooky season, Gengar is a dual Ghost and Poison-type Shadow Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Gengar's name comes from the word doppelgänger, a ghostly double of a living person, and possibly the Scandinavian folklore term ganganger (one who walks again) 👻 All drawing materials will be needed, and no RSVP is needed!

Next up, the kids will have a gastrono-mically good time and learn something cool in one fell swoop on Wednesday, October 21st from 4:30 - 5:30pm during STEM Club for Kids, where Miss Caitlin will teach kids & their caregivers how to make their own gummy worms!!! All materials will be provided, and no RSVP is needed.

For further information about Pokémon Club, STEM Club, or other Youth Services Department activities, please contact Caitlin Riccitelli, Hagaman Library's Youth Services Librarian, at [email protected].
