To adopt from us, you will need to fill out an application, which will then have to be approved by our Animal Control Officers. If you already have another dog, we encourage you to bring it with you to meet the animal you are interested in. We have areas set up at the shelter to introduce dogs and see how they get along together. Application can be found here: https://www.townofeasthavenct.org/an

🐾💕 BONDED MOMMA & SON LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOME! 💕🐾

Sometimes the sweetest bonds are the ones that simply can’t be broken. ❤️

This beautiful momma and her little boy were found outside together, and through everything, they’ve had each other. Momma has done an amazing job taking care of her baby, and now we’d love nothing more than to see them start their next chapter together in a loving home. 🏡🐱🐱

🐾 Momma
• Female Domestic Shorthair
• Approximately 2–3 years old
• FIV/FeLV negative
• Rabies vaccinated
• Will be spayed before going home
• An absolute sweetheart ❤️

🐾 Baby Boy
• Male Domestic Shorthair
• Approximately 10 weeks old
• Sweet little momma’s boy 🥹

These two are very bonded and MUST be adopted together. Baby has known his momma his entire little life, and after watching the two of them together, we just don’t have the heart to separate them. 💕

They’ve already been through life outside together. Now they deserve the good part — a safe home, soft beds, full bellies, sunny windows, and a family to love them both forever. 🏡❤️

And there’s just one little problem…

They need names! 😹

🐾❤️ FOUR LITTLE KITTENS NEED PATIENT, LOVING HOMES! ❤️🐾

Okay… apparently we forgot to introduce one! 😂 Meet our FOUR adorable little kittens looking for their forever families!

These babies are approximately 10 weeks old and came to us from outdoor momma cats.

ADOPTED!🐢 Tortoiseshell – Female
ADOPTED!🎩 Tuxedo – Male
ADOPTED!🖤 All Black – Male
ADOPTED!🧡 Orange & White – Male with the sweetest blue-gray eyes!

Because these babies spent their first weeks of life outside and didn't have the same early interaction with people as house-raised kittens, they're a little shy and under-socialized right now.

They're already allowing us to handle them, but they're still learning that humans aren't so scary. ❤️ What they need most is patience, consistency and lots of gentle love.

We would especially love to find adopters who:

🐾 Already have a friendly, confident cat at home
🐾 Have experience socializing shy or semi-feral kittens
🐾 Understand that trust may take a little time
🐾 Are willing to let their new kitten adjust at their own pace

They may hide at first. They may not immediately come running for attention. But with time and patience, we think these babies have SO much potential. Watching a shy kitten slowly learn to trust and seek out affection is incredibly rewarding. 🥹❤️

We would also love for anyone interested to consider adopting two together! Having a familiar kitten companion can give a shy kitten confidence and make adjusting to a new home much easier. 🐾🐾

These little ones didn't get to choose how their lives started. We're hoping to find families willing to give them the time they need to discover just how wonderful life inside a loving home can be. 🏡❤️

🐾❤️ MEET MIKEY — 7 YEARS YOUNG! ❤️🐾

Seriously… LOOK AT THAT SMILE. 😍

Mikey is a handsome 7-year-old Pit Bull who recently found himself at our shelter after being surrendered by his previous owner. And we have to tell you — this guy has completely stolen our hearts.

Since arriving, Mikey has been nothing but sweet, friendly and affectionate. He loves people, does well with other dogs, and seems pretty convinced that everyone he meets is his new best friend. 😂❤️

And apparently nobody told Mikey he's seven because this boy still has PLENTY of pep in his step! He’s playful, energetic, goofy and always ready to flash that gigantic smile.

Because Mikey is getting into his mature years, we think he'd be happiest in a home without very young children or toddlers. This has nothing to do with aggression — we'd simply like him to have a home where little hands aren't climbing, pulling or crawling all over him as he gets older.

Mikey didn't expect to be starting over at seven years old. But maybe starting over means his best chapter hasn't happened yet. ❤️

Someone out there is going to be incredibly lucky to call this goofy, smiling boy theirs.

🐾 UPDATE ON OUR ABANDONED DOG 🐾

We are happy to share an update regarding the abandoned dog we recently found at a building on Shaw Road in North Branford.

Thanks to the help of the community, we were able to identify the person responsible for abandoning this dog. The individual has been identified and charged with animal cruelty. ❤️‍🩹

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to the East Haven Police and also thank everyone who called, shared our post, provided information, and helped us identify the person responsible. Your help truly made a difference!

It takes a community to protect animals who cannot speak for themselves, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up for this dog. 🐾❤️ While this cutie is not up for adoption just yet we will keep everyone updated on his progress!

Thank you all for helping us get justice for him.

We are asking everyone to please share this post and help us spread the word about an abandoned dog.

Earlier today, around 2:45 PM, a male Rottweiler was abandoned at a building on Shaw Road in North Branford. 💔

The vehicle involved was described as a two-door silver BMW.

Despite what he has been through, this boy is incredibly sweet. He even enjoyed his bath and has been nothing but gentle and affectionate with everyone who has helped him. The amazing staff at Devil Dog Daycare kept him safe until our team could arrive, and they lovingly nicknamed him “Rhino.” 🐾❤️

We are hoping someone may recognize the vehicle, know who was driving it, or have any information that could help us identify the person responsible for abandoning this dog.

📍 Location: Shaw Road, North Branford
🕝 Time: Approximately 2:45 PM today
🐕 Dog: Male Rottweiler not neutered
🚗 Vehicle: Two-door silver BMW
