East Haven District School Calendar 2015-2016

08/04/2012

We hope that everyone is enjoying their summer so far, we are! And we are thinking ahead to the new scouting year... for all of our girls that flew up to new levels (brownie or junior) congratulations! For our returning Brownies, you guys rock! LOL It's going to be an exciting year ahead with more and more opportunities for us!
so... things to think about... for all of us that are putting together new vests or sashes... remember to leave room for your troop crest when sewing on your numbers and all. We'll be getting our troop crests in the fall.
also... our first family event is up on our calendar. A family trip to the circus. See the troop fb pg calendar for deets. We'll keep the calendar updated with our "extracurricular" activities as they get scheduled.
A special note to all of our Mom's, Dad's, and other "grown-up" friends... with all or the new program changes, we would love it if any of you have any special skills or opportunities that you would like to share with the girls. Maybe you know how to do a special craft or you have a secret mad scientist inside of you that is just crying to come out and play... Or you have friends and family that live in different parts of the country or world that would be willing to tell our girls what it is like to live where they are... Or do you have a special community service project that is near to your heart? Please come share with us! We are always looking for fun and interesting things to do!
Speaking of community service... East Haven Girl Scouts will have a table set up on Sept 8th at the East Haven Fall Festival for recruiting activities. We are always looking for someone to help out at the table - you need to be able to hand out papers and help the youngsters in town make a craft (usually a bookmark or color a pin, or something similar) and to share some of your stories about what you've done in Girl Scouts. If you can spare a bit of time, we'd love you to stop by and help out for an hour! Even half an hour is great! And the girls get credit towards community service as they are promoting Girl Scouts in the community.
See you on Sept 11th at our first meeting!

Hi All,
For next week, we'll be upstairs for our meeting, but Moms have to find a different place to hang! No moms allowed to peek while we make our Mother's Day crafts, lol. TTUL!

02/23/2011

OK-for the Daisies out there-we were invited to visit a junior troop on Mon, 3/19 at 6pm to help the 5th graders working on their Bronze Award. They developed a community literacy program & want our girls to come to their meeting to listen to a story they wrote, learn a game, & do a craft. Before sign up, we want to know if any of the girls would be interested in going? Please send a Yea or Nay my way this week. Thx!

Hi All,
Reminder to bring your Flat Juliette back to the meeting this Tuesday. We will have a laminating machine available for any who wish to have Juliette truly flattened! LOL

Hey All,
We didn't get to put this out for y'all on Tuesday, but we are going to offer a trip to Lowe's to make a jewelry box on the morning of Feb 12th. Any takers?

02/01/2011

Due to the weather we are going to cancel the meeting tonight. So you are to bring your cookie order forms in next week, unless you want to bring them to me. Also please have the girls learn something about England or Girl Guides UK and bring to the meeting next week. This is the country that we will be doing for International Friendship Day.
