Finally, warm weather is here! ☀️
With the arrival of summer, EKFD members spent drill night sharpening our pumping and drafting skills. In the rural areas we serve, fire hydrants are not available, making it critical that we know where our water sources are and how to access them quickly and efficiently when emergencies occur.
Training like this ensures our firefighters are prepared to establish a reliable water supply from ponds, streams, and other available sources, helping us provide the best possible service to our community when every second counts.

The East Killingly Fire District Annual Meeting to approve the budget is tonight at 7 PM… All east Killingly taxpayers are encouraged to attend!

Members reviewed RIT equipment and training on the use of a 2:1 pulley system for firefighter evacuation and rescue operations. Continuous hands-on training helps ensure our crews are prepared to respond quickly and safely when every second counts.

Training like this strengthens teamwork, reinforces rescue fundamentals, and keeps our members ready for high-risk situations on the fireground.

This week, we proudly recognize and thank the dedicated EMRs, EMTs, paramedics and first responders who answer the call day and night to serve our community.

From lifesaving interventions and compassionate support during difficult moments, EMS professionals make a difference every single day.
