🔒 **Gun Storage Check Week | June 1–7**

The East Lansdowne Police Department encourages every firearm owner in our community to take a few minutes this week to review how fi****ms are stored at home and in vehicles.

Safe storage helps prevent accidents, unauthorized access, theft, and su***de. Gun Storage Check Week reminds gun owners to **“Make Sure It’s Secure®”** by using responsible storage options such as cable locks, lock boxes, full-size safes, and secure vehicle storage.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to have age-appropriate conversations with children about firearm safety. This short Project Child-Safe video is a helpful resource for families and a great conversation on the topic:

As the weather gets warmer and more residents are out walking, driving, and enjoying our neighborhoods, the East Lansdowne Police Department reminds everyone to slow down, stay alert, and look out for one another.

Whether you are behind the wheel, riding a bike, or crossing the street, take a few extra seconds to check your surroundings. Watch for children, pedestrians, crossing guards, parked vehicles, and school buses. Small acts of caution can prevent serious injuries and help keep our community safe.

Together, we can make East Lansdowne safer for everyone.
