Michigan Political History Society KNOWLEDGE OF MICHIGAN’S POLITICAL HISTORY AND UNDERSTANDING OF ITS IMPACT THROUGHOUT TIME PROVIDES THE FRAMEWORK FOR ENVISIONING OUR FUTURE

MPHS is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1993 to encourage civility and capture Michigan's political history for today and for future understanding of how our great state evolved through its political players, legislation, court decisions and voters. The main goal has been and continues to be accomplished through the James J. Blanchard Library of oral histories which can be found online at http://jjblivinglibrary.com. In addition, numerous events have been held over the years to honor those that have had an impact on Michigan's political history.

We were very saddened to hear of the passing of MPHS Lifetime Member and MPHS Board Member, Dr. Joe Schwarz. We were fortunate to have captured his oral history through our Governor James J. Blanchard Living Library of Oral Histories project.
