Lifeteam EMS is deeply saddened to announce the loss of a friend and former dispatcher/EMT Andrea Hoffman.

Andrea dispatched for many years for Lifeteam and other Fire, EMS and police departments in our area. She enjoyed telling people where to go and pushing their "buttons" (Tones).

Andrea was one of the best. She had your back in and out of the office. Andrea was not only a great dispatcher, but a wonderful friend and actually family to so many.

Please keep Andrea's family, friends and co- workers in your thoughts and prayers.

Amazon shut off our Ambulance account access to needed Covid 19 supplies because we aren't a hospital... They have been our main supplier of cleaning and sanitizing supplies, surgical masks, Purell, and various other things for several years. We have followed their sign up stuff but they say they are now only selling to hospitals and state run agencies. About 50% of or patients are Covid 19 positive or awaiting results.... Share to help.... Please

A word about my crews in the field, dispatchers, mechanics, and office staff that just must be said.

I could not be more proud of a group of people as I have been over the last several weeks. The resolve of the staff I have is simply amazing. They have stepped up in the face of a pandemic, like hasn't been seen some 1918. I have barely heard a complaint from anyone.

We have limited PPE available. The rules change daily, knowledge of the virus remains often opinion based. We get most of our information from Fox News and Governor Dewine at 2 each day. We are having nursing homes and hospitals trying to stick thermometers in US every time we enter or exit, questioning us if we've been "exposed". Well yes, we're being exposed everyday.

Again very little complaints or any real negativity from anyone on the staff. Everyone has been rolling with the punches and adjusting to this new (hopefully temporary) normal, that changes daily.

We sent out an alert because we were called by FEMA to send trucks to New York City. We ended up being put back on standby before we pulled out of the driveway, but I had three times the number of people we needed all volunteering to go help strangers. Very very Impressive!

Everybody is scrubbing and cleaning more than they've ever done in their lives and again really no complaining.

EMS folks can be difficult to manage, and I understand this being one myself. But I am very proud to be a part of THIS group of people right now!

We truly together fight what others fear. First in last out.

Thank you for being a part of this team!

As we prepare for a surge in COVID-19 cases, our various stations are in urgent need of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to meet demand and provide protection for our EMTs and Medics.

We are NOT out and everyone is still covered at the moment but we are running incredibly low on this equipment and feel a large surge is coming our way.

We need N95 masks, surgical masks, exam gloves, disposable gowns, disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer.

If you or your business can help in any way, please drop what you have off at one of our stations, or contact our comm center at 330-385-0000 if you have some to donate or sell, either way, we are not necessarily trying to get free stuff we have quantities on order with absolutely no delivery date given.

If you reside in any of the 28 counties we are located in see what you could do to help!

Let's help protect our frontline folks together!

Please- Only utilize 911 and your Emergency Departments for EMERGENCIES!!!

Do NOT call 911 or go to the ER for simple flu like symptoms. Take some Tylenol and Motrin and drink lots of fluids, and stay home!! Call your doctor or see your doctor. Go to an urgent care or contact an urgent care if you do not have a doctor.

Everybody WILL NOT be tested for Covid-19 just by asking or demanding it. What you are doing by calling 911 or going in with these symptoms are using up time and resources that are needed to take care of the truly sick and dying. AND.... thereby placing yourself in a location where other actually truly sick people are and potentially risking an exposure you may not have already had!!

IF you have a fever NOT CONTROLLED BY MEDICATION, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing (and I’m not talking feeling short of breath after walking up a bunch of stairs or working out), unable to keep anything down (for more than several hours)- call your doctor, go to an urgent care or go to the ER. And if urgent enough call 911. Do not use the ambulance because you do not have a ride that is not what they are for.

AND- if you are alert, oriented able to walk and talk- drive yourself or have someone bring you. Do not call 911 because you think it’s going to get you a bed faster- they are going to ship you right on out to the triage, where you will be sitting with other sick people.

The ambulances will NOT come to your home and "evaluate" you, they are there to transport those that have a true life threatening emergency they are experiencing. Ambulances and ambulance crews are unable to determine if you are at risk or have any specific virus. Although all available precautions are being taken with the paramedics and EMTs, do understand the ambulance crews could potentially have been exposed to the virus themselves, and themselves be contagious.

Do not let that bother you if you're having a life-threatening emergency!! A heart attack stroke or other serious medical condition is much more dangerous untreated than the virus.

Call your doctor's if in question! Please be smart!!
