Another major hit to our wallets. HB 5340 extends massive solar subsidies — paid for by every electric customer through higher Public Benefits Charges.
State Rep. Nick Menapace claims to fight for affordability, yet he voted for this bill — one of many that prove otherwise. We’re glad Anne Santoro for the 37th stood with Ryan Fazio for Governor asking the Governor to veto it.
This will hammer non-solar households, renters, seniors on fixed incomes and small businesses already struggling with sky-high rates.
Enough with the affordability crisis in Connecticut. Prioritize real relief for people, not more mandates that raise costs.

On this Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women from East Lyme and across our nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. From the shores of Niantic to the fields of Flanders, we remember the local heroes whose courage and service built the foundation of the liberty we cherish today.
We are grateful for the East Lyme Veterans and the annual Memorial Day Parade that brings our community together as a reminder of their legacy.
Their sacrifice ensures that the American Dream remains alive in our town and across this great land. Let us never forget them.
May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and the United States of America.

Tonight I received the unanimous endorsement of the Republican Delegates to the House Convention for the 37th District--East Lyme, Salem, and Montville. I am honored to be on the ballot this November 3 with a highly talented team of candidates for State and Congressional office. I am looking forward to bringing the 37th's voice to Hartford and balance and thoughtful solutions to our state legislature.

🚨 Reminder that East Lyme’s budget referendum is today!

This proposed budget includes another significant tax increase on East Lyme residents, including a proposed 1.48 mill increase and a 5.28% tax increase. The overall town budget would increase by more than $6 million, or 6.3%, from last year alone. This would mark the third straight year of major tax increases, totaling close to a 19% tax increase in just over three years. These repeated tax increases continue stacking year after year while taxpayers are left footing the bill.

Residents are already dealing with rising costs for groceries, utilities, insurance, housing and everyday expenses. These tax increases continue stacking year after year and many families simply cannot keep absorbing hundreds or even thousands of dollars more in annual taxes.

Please take the time to vote NO today at the East Lyme Community Center, 37 Society Road, from 8:00AM to 8:00PM and make your voice heard!
