The Chiefs of EMFD would like to thank the department members and community members who cleared fire hydrants and wells throughout East Marion. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

On another note, we noticed that some hydrants have been taken over by plantings. We realize Hydrants aren’t the prettiest lawn ornament but they serve a purpose and keeping them clear is vital to our mission. Please refrain from planting shrubs, bushes, trees or anything near the hydrants.

Southold Town Supervisor Albert Krupski Jr. has declared a State of Emergency in anticipation of expected severe winter weather conditions. The declaration is effective 12:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, through 6:00 PM on Monday February 23, 2026, unless earlier terminated or extended.

The safety of our residents and visitors is our top priority. Residents are urged to continue monitoring local weather conditions, avoid unnecessary travel, and assist in keeping roadways clear by removing vehicles, garbage cans, and other personal property from town rights-of-way.

All non-essential town offices will be closed on Monday 2/23.

To report a power outage, contact PSEG at 1 800-490-0075 or visit their website at https://www.psegliny.com/outages/waystoreportanoutage.

In case of an emergency, dial 911. If you have any non-emergency questions, call the Southold Town Police Department at 631-765-2600.
