Mud Pond Preserve

Mud Pond Preserve 100 public acres of multiple habitats and hiking trails in the highlands of Rensselaer County in the naturally beautiful town of Nassau, New York.

The Nassau Mud Pond Preserve is a nearly 100 acre tract of diverse habitat areas completely within the Town of Nassau. The pond itself is a rare acidic bog lake which contains its own unique flora and fauna. Once phase one of the project is completed, it is expected two miles of trails will be open for hiking, exploring and winter recreational opportunities. The Town anticipates adding several mor

e trails in additional phases. All development will be in keeping with the goal to protect sensitive habitat areas while providing recreational opportunities for residents.
