Nikki Lucas has served as a community activist, parent advocate and entrepreneur in the Brooklyn community for over 20 years. With parents who heavily participated in local campaigns, her interest in civic engagement began at the age of eight. That interest later progressed into active involvement with community leaders such as Congressman Edolphus Towns, past District Leaders Earl Williams, Carol

Faison and DeCosta Headley. As an active single parent and volunteer, Nikki’s direct involvement in fundraising efforts has resulted in the receipt of donations and implementation of educational restructuring that has affected a positive change. Nikki is currently an Executive Board member of The East NY Elementary School of Excellence PTA and Committee member of the School Leadership Team. Nikki Lucas and her family have lived in the Starrett City community for over 30 years. Her place of worship is Pilgrim Cathedral where she has been an active member for over 30 years under the leadership and guidance of Arch Bishop Roy E. Brown and Pastor Deborah Crowe. Nikki Lucas extends her service and dedication to the community, and will always advocate on issues that affect us.

Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas is calling for greater accountability, responsibility and unity within Brooklyn’s Democratic Party following recent allegations of antisemitism involving a newly elected district leader.

“We must unequivocally condemn antisemitism, racism, Islamophobia, gender bias and all forms of hatred and discrimination. At the same time, this moment should prompt a broader conversation about the leaders we elevate and the responsibility we have to build bridges across Brooklyn’s diverse communities.”

Leadership should be rooted in community, experience and a commitment to bringing people together. Brooklyn’s diversity is our strength, and our focus must remain on serving the people and addressing the issues that matter most to our communities.

Free legal consultations are now available through the Office of Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas for constituents facing housing-related legal issues.

Beginning Tuesday, August 25, licensed attorney Leander McRae will be available by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays to provide guidance on foreclosure concerns, housing court matters, landlord-tenant disputes, and other housing-related issues.

Consultations will be held at 425 New Lots Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207. These services provide legal information and advice and do not include representation in court.
