The East Norriton Police Department is proud to announce that on June 2, 2026, we were reaccredited by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC) and awarded Premier Agency Status, a distinction achieved by only a small percentage of law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania.

ENPD has proudly maintained accredited status since 2005. Accreditation is a rigorous process that ensures departments meet the highest professional standards in policing, accountability, training, policies, and community service. Premier Status recognizes agencies that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Chief Matthew Brannen and Deputy Chief Thomas Douglas accepted the award on behalf of the department at the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association Conference.

This achievement reflects the hard work, professionalism, and dedication of every member of the East Norriton Police Department. We extend our sincere appreciation to all of our officers and staff who help make our department one our community can be proud of every day. A special thank you goes to our Accreditation Manager, Officer Samantha Kaisinger, Lieutenant Joel Homan, and Detective Sergeant Orlando Rota, whose commitment, expertise, and attention to detail were essential to this accomplishment. We also thank Madeline Lewis of Aspirant Consulting Group, LLC, for her professional guidance and support throughout the accreditation process.

We are honored to receive this recognition and remain committed to providing the highest level of service, professionalism, accountability, and transparency to the residents of East Norriton Township.

As e-bikes continue to grow in popularity, we expect to see more riders enjoying our roads, trails, and neighborhoods this summer. With that increase comes the importance of understanding what is and is not legal to operate on Pennsylvania roadways.

This graphic is provided for informational purposes to help keep riders, motorists, and pedestrians safe this summer. Please review and share.

๐Ÿšจ The one-year warning period has ended. Beginning June 5, 2026, Pennsylvaniaโ€™s hands-free law is fully enforceable. Drivers may not hold, touch, or use a handheld phone while operating a vehicle, even when stopped at a red light or in traffic.

More importantly, distracted driving puts lives at risk. Put the phone down, stay focused, and help keep our roads safe for everyone.

During the spring and early summer months, it is common to find young fawns resting alone in yards, flower beds, wooded areas, and neighborhoods. In most cases, the fawn is not abandoned. Mother deer intentionally leave their fawns hidden while they forage nearby and will return when it is safe.

If you come across a fawn:
โ€ข Do not touch or move it
โ€ข Keep children and pets away
โ€ข Avoid gathering around or taking photos nearby
โ€ข Leave the area quietly and allow the mother to return

Fawns rely on camouflage, remaining still, and staying hidden for survival during their first few weeks of life. Human interaction can cause unnecessary stress and may place the animal in danger.

You should only contact authorities if the fawn appears:
โ€ข Visibly injured
โ€ข Unresponsive or covered in flies
โ€ข Trapped or in immediate danger
โ€ข Next to a deceased doe for an extended period
โ€ข Crying continuously for hours

If intervention is necessary, contact the Pennsylvania Game Commission at 1-833-PGC-WILD (1-833-742-9453).
