Norristown Farm Park Environmental Education Norristown Farm Park contains paved walking and biking trails, nature trails, a creek to fish. Learn fact about our species during our Wild Wednesday posts.

The Norristown Farm Park is 690-acres, which is Montgomery County's second largest park. 450-acres of the park is leased by a tenant farmer, while the rest of the property is maintained for recreational use. There are miles of paved hiking and biking trails, nature trails, a picnic pavilion, and more. Also the Stony Creek is available for fishing and other enjoyment. The Farm Park is home to many

animals including songbirds, deer, fox, and more. Also attend our educational program to explore the property, learn about wildlife, and different environmental topics. Programs are held year round with topics varying based on seasons, check our events page for the current programs! Get outdoors and enjoy nature!

Don't forget to help us learn about all the different species within the park! Use iNaturalist to record your finds and submit them to our 2026 Observation project. Currently we only need 35 more observations to get to 700! Can you help reach that goal by the end of August? Remember the project is only open until October 1st, there isn't much time left. Join our Nature Explorer lessons! These will have different nature topics and include a craft to take home. Our next lesson is Thursday August 20, two session 10am and 1pm. We will be learning all about the Firefly! Come discover fun firefly facts, their life cycle, and create a craft to take home. This lesson has a $3 craft fee collected day of in cash or check. Ranger Jacob spotting this beauty back in May! Such a beautiful bird. Did you know Bald Eagles get their white head and tail around 5 years old? As they grow they are majorly brown and slowly transition their heads and tails to white as they age.

Our monthly bird walk is next Tuesday, August 11 at 8:30am. Please join use to explore the park and see how many species we can locate by sight and sound! This walk is great for experienced and beginner bird watchers. No registration needed. We will meet in parking lot #3, by the pavilions. Bring binoculars or borrow ours.
