🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEWEST CAREER FIREFIGHTERS! 🎉

Join us in celebrating a major milestone! A huge congratulations goes out to our two newest career staff members who officially graduated from the Recruit Academy this week. Firefighter Jackson and Firefighter Lapore.

Over the last several months, these two have been pushed to their absolute limits—both physically and mentally. From live-fire training and complex technical rescue scenarios to intense classroom academics and rigorous physical conditioning, they have put in the sweat, determination, and grit required to wear the badge.

The transition from recruit to probationary career firefighter is a massive achievement, and their hard work has officially paid off.

Starting this week, these two professionals will be taking their places on the lines, staffing the apparatus, and serving our community full-time.

Thank you both for your exceptional dedication and commitment to excellence. Welcome to the floor, stay safe, and enjoy the start of a long, rewarding career! 🚒🔥

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating our two newest career firefighters in the comments below! 👇

👨‍🚒 HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO OUR FIREFIGHTER DADS! 👨‍🚒

Today, we honor all the incredible fathers and father figures in our community, with a special shout-out to the firefighter dads who balance the call of duty with the call of family.

Being a firefighter dad takes a unique kind of strength. It means missing occasional holiday dinners, birthdays, or weekend ball games when the tones drop. It means coming home after a grueling shift, putting exhaustion aside, and jumping straight into being a coach, a mentor, and a hero at home.

The dedication shown both on the fireground and at the family table is nothing short of inspiring.

Wishing a safe and happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! ❤️🚒

Join us in celebrating the incredible dedication of our community’s newest EMT's.

Over the last several months, these individuals have pushed through grueling hours of intense classroom study and rigorous practical skills training. They’ve mastered everything from patient assessment and trauma care to life-saving cardiac interventions—all while balancing their regular jobs, families, and personal lives.

To give up your personal time to train to serve others is the ultimate definition of community first.

Thank you for your commitment, your sacrifice, and your passion for helping others. We are incredibly proud EMT Cresto and EMT Whalen!

It's another HOT day 🔥
Do you know the difference between Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke? Memorizing these signs can save a life!

🛑 HEAT EXHAUSTION (Act to cool down)

Symptoms: Heavy sweating, cold/pale/clammy skin, a fast but weak pulse, nausea, muscle cramps, dizziness, or a headache.

What to do: Move to an air-conditioned room, loosen clothing, apply cool/wet cloths, and sip water. Seek medical help if symptoms last longer than an hour or worsen.

🚨 HEAT STROKE (A Life-Threatening Emergency!)

Symptoms: High body temperature (103°F+), hot, red, dry or damp skin, a fast and strong pulse, confusion, slurred speech, or passing out.

What to do: Call 911 immediately. Move the person to a cooler place and help lower their temperature with cool cloths or a bath. Do NOT give them anything to drink.

💧 Quick Tips to Stay Safe:
1️⃣ Hydrate Before You’re Thirsty: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Avoid sugary, caffeinated, or alcoholic drinks, which can dehydrate you faster.
2️⃣ Limit Peak Hours: Avoid heavy outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day (10 AM to 4 PM). If you must work outside, take frequent breaks in the shade.
3️⃣ Look Out for Others: Check in on elderly neighbors, toddlers, and pets.
4️⃣ Look Before You Lock: Never leave children or pets in a parked car—temperatures inside can become fatal in mere minutes.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe! 👨‍🚒🚒

Over the weekend, families of the newest volunteer recruits got a firsthand look at academy life.
Recruits have been working tirelessly to learn the skills needed to protect the community—but behind every dedicated volunteer is a rock-solid support system at home. This weekend was all about celebrating those families!
