The baby raspberry bush that our young gardeners planted last year has grown bigger -- and now it's flowering for the first time! Our community garden meets at 4PM every Thursday, and kids and teens of all ages are welcome, as are parents. 🌱

Teen are invited to join us for a candle-making class at 4PM on Monday, June 1st! Guest instructor La Shonda of Nyah Beauty will teach you how to make a natural soy wax candle in a scent of your choice for you to take home.

Teens are invited to join us at 4PM on Friday, May 22nd, to show off their beatboxing skills and compete for a prize at EOPL's first ever Teen Beatbox Battle! Our judges will weigh each performance in four categories (originality, musicality, technicality, and showmanship) to determine who will be crowned champion! This event is open to teens in grades 8-12 and is limited to twenty contestants. Teen spectators are encouraged to attend, and snacks will be provided.

There will also be a table outside the East Orange Room with representatives from Rutgers University—Newark, who will be sharing information about the TRiO Talent Search program! TRiO Talent Search is run by the Center for PreCollege Programs and provides opportunities for students in grades 6–12 within the East Orange School District to receive academic, career, and financial guidance.
