๐Ÿ† ICYMI! What a night in East Orange this past Tuesday at the 32nd Annual Paul Robeson Football Classic, an all-star game featuring the best senior football players from the East and West regions of New Jersey.

Our East All-Stars handled business, winning 18-3 from start to finish!

Mayor Ted R. Green helped kick off the night with the ceremonial coin toss alongside Superintendent Dr. Christopher Irving. When the coin landed on the blue side, it felt like a sign of what was to come.

The stadium was packed with families, alumni, coaches, community leaders, and football fans from across the region, all coming together to celebrate some of New Jerseyโ€™s top student-athletes.

Shoutout to our East representatives:

- Robert Minter
- Abdoul Kafando
- Karl Clarke
- Quadir Parrish

This win belongs to every player who puts in the work, every coach who poured into them, and every supporter who came out and showed love.

The night was also marked by a special honor for legendary East Orange football coach Ronly London, who was inducted into the Essex County High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame. His legacy continues to impact generations on and off the field.

We were also joined by State Senator Benjie E. Wimberly and Second Ward Councilman Christopher Awe, along with city leaders and residents, making it a true community celebration.

This is East Orange.

Men, when was your last checkup?

If you canโ€™t remember, it may be time to schedule one.

June is Menโ€™s Health Monthโ€”a reminder that preventive care, routine screenings, and healthy habits can help detect problems early and improve long-term health outcomes.

Your health matters. Make it a priority.

A Message from Mayor Ted R. Green

We know the walk from the parking lot to the new ShopRite may not be as convenient as everyone would like. But this is only a temporary inconvenience as construction continues at The Crossings.

The good news is that once the old store is demolished, the area will be transformed into expanded parking, creating a more convenient shopping experience for residents and visitors alike.

The alternative would have been closing the store for several months during construction, a disruption that would have impacted thousands of shoppers and employees.

Please be patient as construction continues and we get to the finish line -- a better overall shopping experience for everyone.

๐Ÿšฆ TRAFFIC SAFETY UPDATE ๐Ÿšฆ

Heads up, East Orange! A new STOP sign has been installed at the intersection of South Harrison Street and Elmwood Avenue in both directions to help improve traffic safety for motorists, pedestrians, and our neighborhood residents.

As you travel through the area, please remember to:

๐Ÿ›‘ Come to a complete stop
๐Ÿ‘€ Pay close attention to all traffic signs and markings
๐Ÿšถ Watch for pedestrians crossing the street
๐Ÿš— Drive carefully and responsibly

These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to making East Orange streets safer for everyone. Help us keep our community safe by slowing down, staying alert, and following all traffic signs!
