Today’s is the from the February 5, 1978, edition of the Vindicator. The article highlights the Town and Country Garden Club which was organized in 1959. The year of the article, the club theme was “Knowledge: Search and Seek.” The group met at the time on third Tuesday of the month in the Peacock Room. Programs for 1978 included bow making, wild flowers, and a trip to Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek. Thank you to the Town & Country Garden Club for adding to the beauty of East Palestine for all these years.

In honor of East Palestine’s Wheels of the Valley this Saturday, today’s is an article from the July 19, 1976, edition of the Daily Leader. The article features twin brothers Jim and Jerry Coblentz as the fastest twins in town. The Coblentz twins spent most of their Sundays racing at Quaker City Dragway near Salem since 1969. To learn more about Jerry’s racing career, listen to an interview with Jerry on Claybrook Chats with Barb podcast.
