🚨 Ohio's Wildlife Licensing System (OWLS) will be offline from 8 p.m. on Monday, September 7 through the afternoon of Tuesday, September 8. 🔶 🚧

⭐ We are transitioning to a modern e-commerce site with enhanced security features. There are a few things you can do to ease your transition during this process.
1️⃣ Create a unique email (if you do not have one already)
🔹 Unlike the existing system, every customer will need a unique email address. If you do not already have one you can make one for free using Google or a similar service.
2️⃣ Document your customer ID
🔹 Using this unique identifier will make the process easier for all. Write down your customer ID before the outage on 9/7.
3️⃣ Don’t wait to buy your license!
🔹 Make your purchases early, well before you plan to go hunting or fishing. If you’ll need a license at any time during the outage, be sure to purchase it before the system goes offline.

Wildlife biologists use public reports of wild turkeys submitted in August to estimate population statuses and reproductive success. Observers of wild turkeys are asked to report the number of gobblers, hens, and young turkeys (poults) seen. Community scientists are asked to record the date and county where the observation occurred and include as many details as possible with each report.

Similar surveys are conducted by other states throughout the wild turkey’s range. Information submitted to Ohio’s surveys helps predict future population changes, estimate brood success, and guide management decisions.

It's almost indoor archery season again!!! Open Range starts again on September 2nd.

Beginning September 2nd, join us every Wednesday from 6 - 8pm and every Saturday from 10 AM - Noon for open range.

Any level of experience is welcome, we can provide equipment and have staff available to teach new shooters.

Youth shoot for free, we ask a $10 donation for adults to shoot. Registration is not required.

Open Range will continue through April - we will post any dates that we will not be open here on Facebook and on our website when we post the upcoming month's open range schedule.

👟Squish, crush, or stomp these bugs!

🙁It’s rare that we promote the squishing of bugs, but that’s what we need you to do when you find spotted lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula)! First reported in the U.S. in 2014, this invasive pest reproduces quickly and is especially damaging to crops. 🌿They feed on a wide range of plants including native grapevines, hops, and other trees and shrubs.

You can’t miss this bug—adult lanternflies are tan with black-spotted wings and red hind wings. They may be mistaken for moths or spotted beetles, but their striking wings set them apart upon closer inspection.

Want to help reduce spotted lanternfly? Their preferred host plant is the invasive tree-of-heaven (Ailanthus altissima). Survey your property and remove plants if possible. Learn more about this invasive at ohiodnr.gov.
