To Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Sinaitakala Tukuʻaho, Patron of the Kolofoʻou District Council: thank you. You came to East Palo Alto in May and you have not stopped showing up for this partnership since. You opened every door we walked through this week.

To the people of Tonga: eight days and not once were we made to feel like visitors. Every school, every ministry, every table. Thank you for the welcome, and for the patience.

Wednesday News | East Palo Alto Visits U.S. Embassy Nukuʻalofa

The East Palo Alto delegation continues its official visit in the Kingdom of Tonga, with its latest stop at the U.S. Embassy’s Nukuʻalofa office — another important touchpoint in the growing connections between California, Tonga, and the broader Pacific.

The delegation’s itinerary has also included Tonga High School, where members visited the school library, and an engagement with Tonga Women in ICT (TWICT), bringing education, technology, and institutional exchange into the week’s conversations.

From classrooms to community organizations to diplomatic institutions, this visit is providing a ground-level look at the people and institutions shaping Tonga — and opening new conversations about where California-Pacific collaboration can go next.

The relationships are being built. The opportunities are becoming clearer. 🌏
