🐥🚒 CHICK-NAPPED BY A STORM DRAIN? NOT ON OUR WATCH! 🚒🐥

On June 8, 2026, at approximately 1841 hours, the East Quogue Fire Department was dispatched to what may be one of the smallest rescue calls of the year.

A baby chick had found itself in a bit of a fowl situation after ending up in a storm drain. Thankfully, our members were ready to answer the call.

Great work by all involved in proving that no call is too small when someone—or some birdie—needs help.

Sunday morning EQFD honed their skills in brush fire tactics.

This time of year is especially susceptible to brush fires.

🔥 🔥 Reminder: there is a New York State annual statewide residential brush burning ban is currently in effect, running from March 16 through May 14, 2026. The ban prohibits burning brush, sticks, and debris to prevent wildfires during the high-risk spring season 🔥🚒
