The annual rankings evaluate districts based on a wide array of metrics, including academic performance, college readiness, teacher quality, diversity, student and parent reviews, and extracurricular opportunities.

“We are extraordinarily proud of this recognition,” said Dr. Kevin Scanlon, Superintendent of Schools. “This demonstrates the dedication and hard work of the entire Three Village community, the Board of Education, administration, faculty, staff, parents, and students.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Comiskey and Mrs. Vecchio! What an amazing accomplishment!

At the March 25 Board of Education meeting, two of our outstanding educators, Ms. Jennifer Vecchio and Ms. Kathryn Comiskey, were recognized as New York State Master Teachers, one of the highest honors for classroom excellence in the state. This distinction celebrates their exceptional skill, dedication, and impact on student learning, highlighting their leadership in the classroom and commitment to advancing teaching practices. Being named a Master Teacher not only honors their individual achievements but also reflects the district’s focus on fostering excellence and innovation in education.

A sixth-grade special education teacher, Ms. Vecchio is celebrated for her compassion, patience, and dedication, creating a classroom where every student feels supported and empowered to succeed. Gelinas Principal Corinne Keane noted that Ms. Vecchio tailors instruction to meet each student’s unique needs, fosters independence, and celebrates achievements both big and small, making a lasting impact on her students, colleagues, and the Three Village school community.

Known for placing students at the center of her work, Ms. Comiskey collaborates thoughtfully with colleagues, contributes to curriculum development, and embraces innovative teaching programs. Nassakeag Principal Heather Levine highlighted that beyond the classroom, Ms. Comiskey fosters student leadership as Student Council advisor, organizes school-wide initiatives like the Souper Bowl, and supports events such as Milk and Cookies Night and Multicultural Night. Her care, commitment, and high expectations leave a lasting impact on her students, colleagues, and the Nassakeag community.

The district proudly has 11 Master Teachers districtwide, underscoring our commitment to exceptional teaching and student success.

Congratulations Mrs. Gaedje and Mr. Geoninatti! A well-deserved honor!

At the March 25 Board of Education meeting, the Three Village Central School District proudly recognized its nominees for New York State Teacher of the Year, celebrating educators whose dedication, innovation, and leadership make a lasting impact on students and the school community. Congratulations to Dawn Gaedje and Emiliano Geoninatti.

Administrators across the district nominate outstanding educators in their schools, recognizing those who demonstrate exceptional teaching, leadership, and commitment to students. The district’s Professional Development Committee reviews these recommendations and selects two teachers to advance as the district’s nominees for New York State Teacher of the Year consideration, representing Three Village at the state level.

As part of the district’s New York State Teacher of the Year recognition, Emiliano Geoninatti of R.C. Murphy Middle School was proudly nominated to represent Three Village. A World Language teacher since 2007, Mr. Geoninatti is celebrated for his engaging teaching, unwavering dedication, and ability to build a welcoming, inclusive community where every student feels seen and supported. Principal Michael Jantzen said that from his dynamic classroom environment to school-wide events like basketball and volleyball tournaments, Mr. Geoninatti goes beyond instruction to foster connection, mentorship, and school spirit, making a lasting impact on students, families, and colleagues alike.

Dawn Gaedje of Mount Elementary School was also recognized as a New York State Teacher of the Year nominee. Known for creating a warm, engaging, and supportive classroom environment, Ms. Gaedje inspires students to take risks and grow with confidence. Principal Merrilleen Heidrich said that Ms. Gaedsje sets high expectations while meeting individual needs through thoughtful instruction and demonstrates a strong commitment to literacy and professional growth. Beyond the classroom, she builds meaningful partnerships with families and fosters a strong sense of community, making a lasting impact on her students and the entire Mount school community.

These outstanding teachers exemplify the highest standards of instructional excellence, serving as role models for their colleagues while fostering engaging, supportive, and inspiring learning environments across the district.
