Just before 9:00pm on August 25, 2026, East Wenatchee Police Officers responded to the 7-11 store, at 87 9th St NE, following a report for a weapons violation. The reporting party, and victim, advised they had been confronted at the entrance of the store and threatened with a knife 15-20 minutes prior to officers arriving. The victim was able to follow the suspect’s vehicle back to their residence a short distance from the store.

With the suspects location known, officers presented the victim with a photo line-up resulting in the positive identification of the 65-year-old, male suspect. East Wenatchee Police, with the assistance of regional partners, attempted contact at the suspect’s residence which led to a multi-hour stand-off and negotiation. Around 1:55am on August 26th, the suspect complied and was safely taken into custody.

During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle and residence. The search warrant was executed and evidence was seized.

The suspect was booked into Chelan County Regional Justice Center for Felony Harassment and Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

East Wenatchee Police Department would like to thank the Wenatchee Police Department and our other regional partners, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and East Cascade Swat Team, for their assistance in this incident.
